We are a well respected private Birth Centre based in South West London, run by Professor Caroline Flint RGN, RM, ADM. We are looking for a Practice Manager to manage our small team of Midwives. We practice caseload midwifery and pride ourselves on our outstanding results and excellent relationships with women. You will have the freedom to manage your own time while being on call for the Midwifery team and the enjoyment of working with a dedicated, motivated, friendly and professional team.

You will have the following attributes:
Essential:
A Midwife currently registered with the NMC
Approachable, polite and professional manner
Experience of managing a team of people
Fully conversant with the NMC’s Midwifery Rules
and current NICE guidelines
Knowledge of caseloading Midwifery
The desire to provide exemplary midwifery care to women
Competent administrative and organisational skills
Full, clean driving licence and a roadworthy car
Based within or on the borders of the M25
Desirable:
At least 5 years Midwifery experience
Good computer, internet and email knowledge

PRACTICE MANAGER
INTRODUCTION:
The Practice Manager’s role is to manage, motivate and develop the Midwifery Team of The Birth Centre Ltd. To support and facilitate the process of reflective learning in practice while identifying the training and developmental needs of The Birth Centre Midwives. The Manager is a positive influence on the development and maintenance of high standards of practice and will value, monitor and encourage continuing professional development.
The role of The Practice Manager is to safeguard and enhance the quality of Midwifery care for all clients of The Birth Centre Ltd. To ensure that each Midwife’s practice is of the highest standard, protects the wellbeing of each mother, is evidence based, adaptable to meet individual needs, responsive and is consistent with the NMC’s Midwives rules and standards and Code of Professional Conduct and the Birth Centre Ltd Guidelines.
The Practice Manager will provide professional leadership and be approachable and accessible, will communicate effectively and be available to offer guidance, support and advice regarding women centred care.
THE ROLE:
The Practice Manager reports into the Business Manager, will have a small caseload of women throughout the year and will work a 40 hour week and be on call. You will work from both The Birth Centre (Tooting, South West London) and the Birth Centre Office, (Vauxhall) and will work closely with the Business Manager and Professor Flint to maintain and improve the standards set by The Birth Centre Ltd.
RESPONSIBILTY:
Manage the activity of the Midwifery Team
Monitor and manage the availability of the Midwifery Team
Practical support when required, attending births and visits when needed

All legal requirements ensuring each Midwife is able to practice
